Profile

John A. Fortuna is a partner of Rosenberg Fortuna & Laitman, LLP. Mr. Fortuna joined the firm in 1994 and became a partner in 1999 with the formation of Rosenberg & Fortuna, LLP.

In addition to taking a leadership role in the development of Rosenberg Fortuna & Laitman, LLP and the establishment of the firm’s vision, Mr. Fortuna has an active practice focused in commercial litigation and commercial transactional work in the fields of real estate and corporate law.

Mr. Fortuna has vast experience representing startup, development stage, mature and exiting clients in mergers and acquisitions, capital raising transactions, business succession planning, joint ventures, executive compensation, strategic relationships and virtually all facets of clients’ business legal needs.

Mr. Fortuna acts as outside counsel for several privately owned businesses including prominent nationally franchised businesses, real estate brokerage and development companies, construction companies and restaurants. With the ever-changing needs of firm clients, Mr. Fortuna has been able to lend vital assistance in structuring equity and other financing arrangements in connection with joint ventures, limited liability companies and related entities.

In his capacity as corporate counsel, Mr. Fortuna routinely advises clients regarding management and employee practices, and drafts policies, employee handbooks, and employment agreements. As a result of his extensive background in litigating over numerous business agreements prepared by others, Mr. Fortuna is keenly aware of the critical terms and conditions required for both litigation avoidance and litigation strategies when called on to draft and negotiate such agreements.

Mr. Fortuna has represented buyers, sellers and lenders in connection with complex real estate and mortgage transactions and financial arrangements including construction financing, multi-family apartment projects and commercial office buildings.
