Profile

Arthur S. Laitman joined Rosenberg Fortuna & Laitman, LLP in 1999 as an associate, and was elected partner in 2006. As of April 1, 2008, he was added as a name partner at the firm. In 2008, Mr. Laitman founded the firm's Emerging Companies Practice. Prior to founding the Emerging Companies Practice he concentrated his practice in commercial and corporate transactions and related litigation. Mr. Laitman has conducted jury and bench trials and examinations before trial and has drafted a number of appellate briefs for the firm's clients.

Mr. Laitman is a rare breed – a lawyer with the skills and experience to advise global corporations combined with the entrepreneurial spirit and passion to guide startups and investors from formation through exit.

As the founding partner of the firm's Emerging Company Practice, Mr. Laitman works with companies at all stages – from two founders dreaming up an idea to the world's leading multinational corporations. He has worked with technology companies throughout his entire career.

From seed capital raising to expansion stage financing transactions to public acquisitions, his experience allows him to advise companies and investors through the entire company lifecycle.

For early-stage companies, he helps founders plan for success. This entails not only providing sound legal documentation but delivering valuable advice as to market terms and expectations. Together with his team, Mr. Laitman connects young companies to a vast network of people – ranging from accountants to venture capitalists – who can help them succeed.

Working with a variety of clients, such as technologists, venture capitalists, and corporate executives, Mr. Laitman keeps his client in mind when providing clear, actionable advice. Mr. Laitman was also named to the Legal Affairs Counsel of the Interactive Advertising Bureau.

Professional Affiliations

Mr. Laitman serves on the Board of Directors of the Alzheimers Foundation of America and is also a member of the North Shore-LIJ Health System Commerce and Industry Council. He is a member of the Nassau County Bar Association and participates in the organization's Ethics Committee, Intellectual Property Committee, and Commercial Litigation Committee. Mr. Laitman has also been named one of the top Long Island Business Influencers in Long Island Business News (Law). 

Admissions

Mr. Laitman is admitted to practice law in New York and before the United States District Courts for the Eastern, Southern, Northern, and Western Districts of New York, as well as the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.
