Profile
Joseph P. Sacco, is a partner at Rosenberg, Fortuna & Laitman, LLP, where he leads initiatives at the intersection of technology, law, and corporate governance. Since joining the firm in 2015, he has built a practice centered on emerging companies, artificial intelligence governance, responsible data handling, and internet technology law, with deep experience in commercial litigation supporting these industries.
Mr. Sacco serves as a trusted advisor to start-ups and growth-stage companies in advertising technology (AdTech), marketing technology (MarTech), and the broader Internet of Things (IoT) ecosystem. He increasingly acts as an “outsourced AI officer” for clients, guiding them in the development, deployment, and governance of artificial intelligence systems. His work includes advising on AI policy frameworks, compliance with evolving AI regulations, and alignment with ethical and industry standards, including those drawn from the NIST AI Risk Management Framework.
In addition to AI governance, Mr. Sacco’s practice spans responsible data handling and privacy law, including European Union General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) compliance. He is a Certified Information Privacy Professional/Europe (CIPP/E) through the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) and has completed specialized coursework from the Interactive Advertising Bureau in Digital Fundamentals and Privacy Essentials, as well as The Trade Desk Edge Academy Marketing Foundations program.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Sacco served as a Judicial Fellow to the Honorable Leonard B. Austin of the New York Supreme Court, Appellate Division, Second Department, where he researched and drafted opinions on a broad range of appellate matters. He also represented clients in mortgage foreclosure defense through the Touro Law Mortgage Foreclosure Clinic and served as a federal judicial extern to the Honorable Joanna Seybert in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York.
Mr. Sacco’s practice is defined by bridging the gap between complex technology and practical legal governance—helping companies not only comply with the law, but also strategically integrate AI and data practices into their core business operations.
