ATTORNEY ARTHUR LAITMAN NAMED A LONG ISLAND TOP 40 RISING STAR
Arthur Laitman to be honored at gala on January 29, 2009
Arthur Scott Laitman, who became a name partner in the Garden City-based law firm of Rosenberg Fortuna & Laitman in April 2008, has been selected by Long Island Business News to be a member of the publication’s Class of 2009 “40 Under 40” achievers. Recognizing Long Island’s best and brightest rising stars, honorees will be inducted at a red carpet gala being held on the evening of January 29, 2009 at the Crest Hollow Country Club in Woodbury, NY.
According to David I. Rosenberg, founder of the firm and senior partner, “Adding Arthur as a name partner was a singular achievement for someone who came to our firm as a third year law student and who, in less than ten years, reached this professional milestone. Being recognized by Long Island Business News as a rising star at only 34 years old is unquestionably a significant accomplishment in his legal career.”
ABOUT MR. LAITMAN
Arthur Scott Laitman joined Rosenberg & Fortuna, LLP in 1999 as an associate and was elected partner in 2006. A Woodmere native and resident of Great Neck with his wife Lauren and their 4-1/2 year old daughter, Stella Blair, Mr. Laitman is a member of Rosenberg Fortuna & Laitman, LLP’s Commercial Litigation, Corporate Litigation, Real Estate Litigation, and Appellate practice areas, and has been instrumental in the growth of the firm to its prominence today.
While attending Hofstra University School of Law, from which he received his Juris Doctor degree in 1999, Mr. Laitman was named to the Dean’s List and was a Merit Scholarship recipient. One of the youngest members of the Board of Directors of the Hofstra University School of Law Alumni Association, he is both a Dean's Circle member and active in the Hofstra Alumni Golf Outing Committee. Furthering his commitment to his alma mater, Mr. Laitman is a member of the Hofstra University School of Law Mentoring Program, providing first and second year law students with information and perspective on the legal profession. In addition, he was recently appointed to North Shore-Long Island Jewish (LIJ) Commerce & Industry Council.
Mr. Laitman is admitted to practice law in New York and before the United States District Courts for the Eastern, Southern, Northern and Western Districts of New York , as well as the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. He is a member of the Nassau County Bar Association and participates in the organization’s Ethics Committee, Commercial Litigation Committee and Appellate Practice Committee; he is also a member of the American Bar Association. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and English in 1996 from the State University of New York at Albany, graduating with honors.
