PROMINENT LONG ISLAND LAW FIRM CHANGES NAME
Rosenberg & Fortuna, LLP becomes Rosenberg Fortuna & Laitman, LLP on April 1st

David I. Rosenberg, Senior Partner in the Garden City-based law firm of Rosenberg & Fortuna, LLP, has announced that beginning April 1, 2008, the firm will be known as Rosenberg Fortuna & Laitman, LLP.

Arthur Scott Laitman joined Rosenberg & Fortuna, LLP in 1999 as an associate and was elected partner in 2006. According to Mr. Rosenberg, “The addition of Arthur as a name partner is another step in the continued growth of our firm, further establishing Rosenberg Fortuna & Laitman as a prominent member of the legal community.” Mr. Fortuna adds, “Adding Arthur as a name partner is a singular achievement for someone who came to our firm as a third year law student and in less than ten years has reached this professional milestone.”

ABOUT MR. LAITMAN

Great Neck resident and Woodmere native Arthur Scott Laitman is a member of Rosenberg Fortuna & Laitman’s commercial litigation, corporate litigation, real estate litigation, and appellate practice areas. He has conducted jury and bench trials and examinations before trial, and has drafted a number of appellate briefs for the firm’s clients. Mr. Laitman is admitted to practice law in New York and before the United States District Courts for the Eastern, Northern and Western Districts of New York, and is a member of the American Bar Association and the Nassau County Bar Association, where he participates in the organization’s Ethics Committee, Commercial Litigation Committee and Appellate Practice Committee.

At the age of 33, Mr. Laitman is one of the youngest members of the Board of Directors of the Hofstra University School of Law Alumni Association. While attending Hofstra University School of Law, from which he received his Juris Doctor degree in 1999, Mr. Laitman was named to the Dean’s List and was a Merit Scholarship recipient. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and English in 1996 from the State University of New York at Albany, graduating with honors. Mr. Laitman served in the Hofstra Criminal Justice Clinic in 1999, representing indigent criminal defendants under the auspices of the New York State Court of Appeals. While attending law school, he was a law clerk in 1998 to the Honorable Arthur J. Cooperman of the Supreme Court in Queens County, New York. In addition, he was selected as student editor of the Law & Policy Symposium Journal.

He supporters the UJA-Federation of New York and the Peninsula Counseling Center, the largest mental health agency in Nassau County. He is a Corporate Cancer Research Sponsor of Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, and is a member of the Carnegie Hall Notables group of sponsors.
