FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: ATTORNEY DAVID I. ROSENBERG HONORED AT CELEBRATION OF JEWISH EDUCATION David I. Rosenberg, Senior Partner in the Garden City-based law firm of Rosenberg Fortuna & Laitman, LLP and a resident of Dix Hills, has been honored by BJENY-SAJES (Board of Jewish Education of Greater New York and Suffolk Association for Jewish Educational Services) at a celebration of Jewish education held on May 25, 2010 at 7 World Trade Center. Mr. Rosenberg is pictured with the award, “The Space Shuttle” mezuzah, taken into space in 1985 on the fourth Discovery mission by astronaut Jeffrey Hoffman. This hand blown glass was based on the design of the container in which the Dead Sea Scrolls were found. A mezuzah is a piece of parchment inscribed with specified Hebrew verses from the Torah. The tribute dinner recognized Mr. Rosenberg’s lifetime of achievement and influence on Jewish education and his commitment to, and passion for, SAJES and the newly formed merged agency BJENY-SAJES. Mr. Rosenberg served as the president of SAJES from 2004-2007. In addition to his involvement with SAJES, he has donated many hours of pro-bono legal services for the Dix Hills Jewish Center, SAJES, the Solomon Schechter Day School of Suffolk County, Inc. and other civic, religious and humanitarian organizations. He is a member of the Dix Hills Jewish Center where he serves as gabbai (a person who assists in the running of the religious services). Mr. Rosenberg states, “The theme of the evening was ‘It is no dream.’ The money raised by this event will help fulfill the dream of building the leadership needed by over 800 congregational day schools, Jewish early childhood centers, and Jewish teen programs in New York City, Long Island, and Westchester County. Our goal is to ensure that meaningful, engaging, and highly attractive Jewish education is accessible to every Jewish child, teen, and family.” ABOUT MR. ROSENBERG Mr. Rosenberg resides in Dix Hills, New York with his wife, Brenda. They are the proud parents of Brad, an MD/PhD candidate at Rockefeller University and Weill Cornell Medical School, and Andrew, a board certified veterinarian currently practicing in Plainview, New York.
