Profile

Seth L. Berman joined Rosenberg Fortuna & Laitman, LLP in 2008 and is an associate at the firm practicing in the areas of commercial litigation, real estate transactions and entertainment law.

As a member of the firm’s litigation practice group, he drafts litigation documents, researches legal issues, writes memoranda of law, prepares pleadings, motion papers and discovery, conducts and defends depositions, settlement negotiations, court appearances and trial preparation.

In the firm’s real estate transaction practice group, Mr. Berman uses his prior work experience in negotiating real estate contracts, leases, and financing commitments. He also conducts closings of various commercial and residential real estate matters.

Upon the completion of law school and before joining Rosenberg Fortuna & Laitman, Mr. Berman was a law clerk at a Long Island/New York City law firm, where he worked with attorneys in the firm’s products liability, personal injury, commercial litigation and intellectual property law practice groups. Prior to law school, Mr. Berman had a diverse career. He spent a year as a business development specialist with Fleet Boston Financial, based in New York City, and another four years in the entertainment industry, negotiating distribution agreements and production contracts for an entertainment distribution company, and as an artists and repertoire (A&R) representative. 

Mr. Berman was named to the Dean’s List at Hofstra Law School for the 2006-2007 academic year, and received Special Recognition for Extraordinary Performance in Commercial Leasing and Commercial Development Contracts. A member of the August A. Rendigs, Jr. National Products Liability Moot Court Competition team, Mr. Berman was also a staff member of the Hofstra Sports and Entertainment Law Society.
