David I. Rosenberg is the senior partner of Rosenberg Fortuna & Laitman, LLP. Prior to founding the firm as David I. Rosenberg, P.C. in 1992, Mr. Rosenberg chaired the litigation department at Certilman Balin Adler & Hyman, LLP, in East Meadow, New York.

In addition to leading the development of Rosenberg Fortuna & Laitman, LLP and establishing the firm’s vision, Mr. Rosenberg has an active practice focused in commercial litigation and transactions, real estate law, corporate law, and appellate practice.

Upon graduation from law school, Mr. Rosenberg was confidential law assistant to the Justices of the Appellate Division, Second Judicial Department. He has appeared before the Supreme Court of the United States, and has argued appeals before the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, the New York Court of Appeals, the Appellate Divisions of the First, Second and Third Judicial Departments, and the Appellate Term of the Ninth and Tenth Judicial Districts. Mr. Rosenberg has also served as an arbitrator for the American Arbitration Association. He has been frequently appointed by the court as a judicial referee and judicial receiver, assisting the court in the disposition of a variety of matters.

From 1999 through 2014, Mr. Rosenberg served as a member of the board of trustees of the Suffolk County Industrial Development Agency, during which he served three terms as vice chairman of the Suffolk IDA. He was also the vice chair of the Suffolk County Economic Development Corporation, a director and immediate past president of the Suffolk Association for Jewish Education Services (SAJES), and served as a member of the advisory board of the Chicago Title Insurance Company. Mr. Rosenberg previously was a vice-chair of the Huntington Township Chamber of Commerce, and the first chair of its Economic Development Task Force. He now serves on the executive board of the Jewish Education Project, the central education agency for the New York metropolitan area.

He was the Chairman of the Appellate Practice Committee of the Nassau County Bar Association from 1995 to 1997, and from 1981 to 1982. He has frequently lectured for the Nassau Academy of Law on the subject of Appellate Practice, and has lectured for the Suffolk Academy of Law and the Nassau County Bar Association Speakers Program. Mr. Rosenberg is the co-author of an article entitled “Litigation Between Vendor and Purchaser” for the New York State Bar Association Continuing Legal Education Program. He has been a guest lecturer of civil practice at Touro College Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law School, and is an adjunct lecturer in real estate financing at the New York University School of Professional Continuing Studies in real estate finance and commercial real estate contracts and closings.

From 1972 to 1976, Mr. Rosenberg served in various positions with the New York State Assembly, including counsel to the ranking minority member of the New York State Assembly Committee on Ethics and Guidance, counsel and administrative assistant.

Admissions
Mr. Rosenberg is admitted to practice law in New York and Florida, and has appeared for trial purposes on individual matters in California, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Washington, D.C. He is admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court, the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, and the United States District Court for the Southern, Eastern and Northern Districts of New York. Mr. Rosenberg is also admitted to practice before all Florida State courts and the USDC for the Southern District of Florida.
