Profile

Anthony R. Filosa joined Rosenberg Fortuna & Laitman, LLP in 2008 and is a partner at the firm. As a member of the firm's litigation practice group, he drafts appellate briefs, argues appeals, conducts trials and depositions and devises legal strategy for a diverse array of commercial litigation matters. He has tried cases as lead trial counsel in state and federal court, argued appeals before the Appellate Division, and successfully petitioned the New York State Court of Appeals to grant leave to appeal.

Mr. Filosa was a law intern in the United States Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of New York, a division of the United States Department of Justice. He conducted research and drafted pleadings concerning to Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA), and constitutional tort law. He completed an internship with the Nassau County Supreme Court with the Hon. Stephen Bucaria, conducting legal research and drafting orders and opinions.

At St. John's University School of Law, Mr. Filosa was the recipient of the St. Thomas More Academic Scholarship and the CALI (Center for Computer-Assisted Legal Instruction) Award for Excellence in Conflict of Laws. He was a senior staff member of the St. John's Journal of Legal Commentary. As an undergraduate at St. John's University, Mr. Filosa received both the Silver Key Award and Gold Key Award for Excellence in Economics.

Admissions
Mr. Filosa is admitted to practice law in New York and before the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.
