Profile
Arthur S. Laitman joined Rosenberg Fortuna & Laitman, LLP in 1999 as an associate, and was elected partner in 2006. As of April 1, 2008, he was added as a name partner at the firm. He concentrates his practice in commercial, corporate and real estate litigation. Mr. Laitman has conducted jury and bench trials and examinations before trial, and has drafted a number of appellate briefs for the firm’s clients.

Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Laitman served in the Hofstra Criminal Justice Clinic in 1999, representing indigent criminal defendants under the auspices of the New York State Court of Appeals. In that capacity, he conducted hearings and trials, and drafted and argued motions.

While attending law school, Mr. Laitman was a law clerk in 1998 to the Honorable Arthur J. Cooperman of the Supreme Court in Queens County, New York. In addition, he was selected as student editor of the Law & Policy Symposium Journal.

Professional Affiliations
Mr. Laitman is a member of the Nassau County Bar Association and participates in the organization’s Ethics Committee, Commercial Litigation Committee and Appellate Practice Committee. Mr. Laitman is also a member of the North Shore-LIJ Health Sytem Commerce and Industry Council, the American Bar Association and is a member of the Board of Directors of the Hofstra University School of Law, Alumni Association.

Admissions
Mr. Laitman is admitted to practice law in New York and before the United States District Courts for the Eastern, Southern, Northern and Western Districts of New York, as well as the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.
